You kick owners have been crying for it so long, you best buy it. NOW!! >:D
-
Ok dang now I really want to buy a track/kick. Course you still have to buy an almost 20 year old solid front axle. Is it truely all in one, Jason? And what year axle did you end up using?

bashzuk,
Not sure about the states but we had the Yota solid axle all the way until 1997. I have a '82 and '97 sitting behind the garage for Ron ;D ( Later ron ;) ).
The CV's and axles are the same through out.

it is EVERYTHING you need but the loaded axels and tires. very, very little cutting. it performs like nothing you could immagine, on road and off!

So tell us which yotas to look under at the junkyard for the proper donor axles for this kit...

pre-86 fourunners and pick ups. do it.
-
They all the same?
-
85 has better trussing from the factory. 84 still has some but not as much. I think in 80 they dont have a truss at all. Other than that they are all the same. All the rears are the same but in 86and up they are 3" wider and have bigger brakes. The 3rds are different in the rear on v6 and turbo toys too.

the best front axle is an 84 or 85. the axle in the rear is a 86 or later 4 cyl then there is spacers in the front to make up for the width. i think brent uses the later rear to get the extra width to make everything clear, also for the bigger breaks

I have a question, and I am not trying to bash just wondering. I have been reading alot about link suspensions and thought that were the links come together at the crossmember, that there was suppose to be some seperation between the upper and lower links to keep them as paralle(sp) as possible?????? (http://i9.tinypic.com/2nc3xw5.jpg)

that would probably be a great question for the designer to answer(especally scense i have no background in suspension design) i'd give brent a call and quiz him.

It's too bad I gave away my Yota axles last year.
Some things never come to market. :-\
Guess I have to start looking again.
seen some on Craigslist (rolling Yota frame) ;D
-
I wish I could afford that but maybe i should worry about getting a trackick first lol. ;D

I would say the word slip yoke comes to mind.

the link mounts are in verticle plane with the rear output, thus not allowing more than about 1/2" slip at the output.

Call Trail Tough! It's toll free...

Usually I would but my work schedule doesn't permit me during Brent's normal business hours.

Hey Jason if you get time could you take a bunch of pics of the underneath of your kick? Some people on Pirate are wondering a little about the axle side of this kit.

FWIW: There are some pretty good underneath shots on Trail Tough's site.

Linkage? I couldnt find any, but I am pretty dull too.

I still prefer the calmini prototype kit. This way we can keep our sidekick diffs and use a rear sidekick 3rd in the front hybrid.
Makes a lot more sense to me and would keep it suzuki. Besides i already have a rear 3rd with locker installed that i could use.

Hmm, I went to their site and couldn't find the pics I was thinking of. I have a nice series of underneath shots that Jason took. Give me a few, and I'll dig that up.

Not mentioned when this was released, but I was just browsing their website and it looks like this is available for a 4-door now. Looks like the same center bracket, just longer links. It's great looking kit.

I thought this too at first, but when you think about it, if you're wheeling hard to need the SAS, and running 33"-35" tires you're going to need upgraded axles.
-
well my kit is on order and i cant wait it looks awesome, I was wondering, they recommend using a 86 or newer rear diff , has anyone put it together with an older diff. will it fit , i know the newer one is wider but i already have a built up diff from a 82
