Title: flat towing and calmini lift
Post by: tipover on November 20, 2006, 04:06:08 PM
For you 3" calmini suspension lift owners, can you flat tow your rig?  I ask because my Sidekick is a dingy for my motorhome.  I flat tow with four on the ground and i have to put the t-case in nuetral which causes the front drive line to spin.  I have been doing it for years with out issues.

Obviously i tow it on the highway at 70 plus MPH and because the kit changes the angle of the u joint at the front diff, I wonder if there will be a vibration when I tow.

If it has a vibration, the sidekick would be useless to me cause i would just trailer my bad ass samurai.

Any comments?

Do you have the transmission in gear when you tow?

You can tow it, no problem.  I've had the the calimini 3 + 3 for 4 years and have not had a problem.  2 years ago I went to an anvil with toy axils and had to do the Mike H. widining.  Still no problems.

Also, I've driven with the hubs locked in going place to place to wheel.  Also no problems running at higher speeds.
