Nice rig. Too nice to be driving around like something is obviously missing. I don't know my bumpers, but there has to be something nice to put on there. It just looks too incomplete, don't you think??

Usually its because the plastic fixing on the side is broken. A screw through it usually does the job, you can always paint the screw head so its not too obvious.

What about removing the plastic guard all together?  I've been thinking I could gain a few inches of approach by doing this (front an back) but didn't know how fugly the raw metal bumper-frame would look...

this is what it looks like with out a front, i took it off to put in my fog lamps in the little cut out under the front.... that was a piece of work. it took a lot of drilling, and over all took a little over 2 1/2 hours just to put 2 fog lights in ... but they look pretty good

They don't look too bad if you paint them.
TN_Tracker has his bumper covers stripped off, and he painted the bumpers gloss black.
Look him up on this forum, I think he has a website.

IMO the front bumper without the plastic cover looks decent.

But the rear without the cover looks terrible.IMO   I built some matching bumpers and rocksliders to help protect.  If you see those "bumper"  they are pretty weak, made of sheetmetal.
