Title: sidekick ARB bumper specs?
Post by: chet on January 11, 2005, 04:45:48 AM
ARB's site only tells you they make one. I am looking for a weight and what winches it will hold? anyone got a spec sheet or anything? I highly doubt I will buy one but it would be nice!

It's a battering ram!  I'd guess it would hold up to a warn 9000 series winch - I have a Warn M6000 on my Calmini bumper, which costs about the same amount, looks a lot better, and fits a lot better.

EDIT:  I take that back!  The ARB is $700, and the Calmini is $500 - and is a LOT nicer!

BUT - it's more than looks you should be thinking about!  That big massive hunk of steel out there cuts down your approach angle - the Calmini unit will give you a better approach angle!  I don't think my Kick on 31's could make it through the Golden Crack with the ARB Bull Bar, but it didn't TOUCH the front bumper to the far side of the crack with the Calmini bumper!

The ARB bumper will only hold Warn winches (I believe its 6000 and above.....) I don't really like the design but got a good price on it. I just use it for looks and approach angle (but on this the Calmini one could be better). With a body-lift it's hard to modify if you want to use it as a winch bumper too....
think about it....... It's just what you'll need in a bumper....  ;)

I've got a Ramsey 8000 mounted in mine and they should take a Warn 9000.
