Title: rebuilding carb
Post by: Amilla on December 14, 2006, 08:53:34 AM
Hey, i am going to re-build my carb for my 88 samurai.  Is there anyone who has done it, that can tell me if there are any like problamatic things i need to know about.  Such as the float being eatin away by gas or if there is some spec that i need to know that is not listed.
Tips and knowledge of any sort would be great.

Thanks a lot

Amilla

I dont think its that hard to rebuild, everything is just extremely tight inside and proper leverage/ tools are essential.  just one big note, dont damage the fuel mixture solenoid if you do you can kiss your carb goodbye.  way way too expensive to get a new one of those.  everything else is workable.  I also think that if you have the money a weber is the way to go.

I have pretty good experiance with carbs, and what i dont know my dad knows so he can help me out.  The reason i need to re-build the carb is just so i can get the dam thing to pass smog, then i can put what ever i want on it.  I was thinking about doing a weber, i hear some people say they suck and others say there great. What do you guys think?
Oh and i have 2 spare sammy carbs so i have plunty of room to mess up hahha
