Ok I have an 87 samurai and the clutch will not fully disengage, it happened all of the sudden, while I was driving. so I adjusted the linkage and it worked fine again. then within 100 miles, it did it again, it kind of disengages, but not all the way, major grinding into reverse and such. So my best guess is that it is the throwout bearing or something, I just thought I would ask and see if anyone has had similer problems.
hope that was enough info, thanks in advance for any help

check your clutch cable for damage like splitting

usually the cable. can be temperarilly fixed with small hose clamps

Hey thanks a lot for the help, that would have never crossed my mind as something to check, where might I get the cable if it's bad? Is there a "cheapest" place to get it?
-
call rick at HAWK . or trail tough has one for 44.95

OK so I tried driving it again and it had no problems, How do I tell if the cable is bad? will it be coming out the side of the sheath? or just look bad? I am wondering if it could possibly be a heat related thing? Thanks in advance

If it is the original cable twenty years is not bad for a part like that to last! I think suzuki johns has then for 38.00 but I get most of my parts from Trail tough and if there out from Hawks.

and get one spare and have it in the truck ;)
