Title: sport on 15's???
Post by: JayN on December 14, 2006, 01:54:48 PM
hard to find a solid answer?
i have a 4 door sport, want to throw a small lift in it. i have  a set of 15" wheels with some 31x11.5 x15 at's on them. the tires are half worn and really measure about 29.5.
don't think they will fit untill some psacers go on, so my question is?
will a 15" rim fit ont he kick?
as i said, i can't jack it up and try now as th etires won't fit.

thanks
J

i think you may have some problems with  tire rub because of the width and i know you will have some withe the height until you put a lift in. I've got a 98 kick 2 door withe 235's on it and the rear tires rubbed justa little witout a lift but that was only when the rear axle was articulating almost all the way. and on the other hand my 235/75/r15's can barley turn lock to lock but it this also all depends on what kind of offset you are running if you have like a -2 ot -3 offset you might fit them with no lift but the lift is really recomended.

You should have room to check the rim for clearance around the calipers if you jack up the front, and have the wheels straight, just don't try to drive it.

Yep, I managed to fit 33s on my 2" lifted Trac/Kick/Vit, couldn't turn the steering though  ;D.  I know others have had problems with 15" wheels on later models. It won't be too much work to give it a try.

thanks,i am not new to zuke's. i have a 90 on 33's with a cage and locked rear,etc....
i just heard that the 15's would fit and i heard that they wouldn't fit on the sport model. saves me getting dirty and trying it if they don't fit.

The best way to check may be to get a bare rim and try to bolt it up. The issue is going to be whether it will clear the brake caliper or not. It is my understanding that they won't but I have never tried and would rather run 16" rims anyway.

the reason for the 15's is i already have a spare set of 31's on black steel wheels here.

well, i bolted one of my wheels on today. the 15" rim works. the 31" tire 's that i have actually measure like 30". they rub on the front bumper.
it will get a lift when i get back froma  atrip next month.
