OK, I don't have my FSM available right now.
What is the name of the part that is held to the firewall by the same screw holding on the coil bracket?
I think it's the "Coil Resistor". It's a small plastic black box with two wires.
I've looked for coil resistors in the local parts store (on their Web catalogs) and no one seems to stock them.
So, what is that part's name and where can I get one?

ya mean the igniter?

Hmm. I don't think so. Is the ignitor used on the same bracket as the square coil? This is simply a little plastic black box with two wires attached into the harness, it just shares the mounting screw with the round coil's bracket.
AdvanceAutoParts.com lists a "Coil Resistor" on their website, but they apparently don't carry the part because it's shaded out :-/

Could it be the Noise Supressor Condensor?

I don't know what it is but I know theres a different type of one on my '93 this one is on my G/Fs '92, is that what your looking for ??

oh, oh, oh that's the Knuten Valve...or maybe it's the blinker fluid resevoir. Either way, just call the parts store and see if they have one in stock ;D

That could be it.  Is that an ignitor, noise suppressor, or what?
BTW, while I'm getting a pretty good spark at #1, #s 2, 3, and 4 seem minimal at best (#3 is almost non-existent). So, fuel flow seems fine, but spark may be in question. Would that part or any other cause poor spark? The dist & rotor are good. Wires are good. I tried an old (know good) coil and old plugs.

If you're getting good spark on one of the cylinders and not the rest that would most likely indicate that the problem is the dizzy... or down stream of the distributor. Coil should be ok if it gives good spark to at least one of the cylinders, right? You say your parts are good dizzy, rotor, wires... how did you test them?
Hope this helps, Eric
