Whats involved in putting Yota axles under a Samurai? How wide do they measure ( Yota & Samurai )? I can easily find some around here, but I'm not sure if I want to do it. I like the idea of the lower diff ratios already in place. Give me info or point me towards it please.

Well, for the front axle it will require you to do one of 4 things: Move the spring perches 3/8 inch on each side; drill new center holes in the perches and mount them up; ignore the difference and just bolt them up; or move the spring hangers outward to match the stock spring perches.
On the rear it will require installing new spriong perches as the locations aren't even close to a zuk.
For driveshafts you can either drill the flanges to fit the bolt pattern of the Toy flange, or you can pick up a set of Rat Adapters from www.rock4xfabrication.com They are sweet and high quality
the brakelines on the front are different so you will need two front brakelines. In the rear the Toy axles only have a single brakeline running to a "T". If you have an 88.5 or newer it isn't a problem as the Zuk only has one rear brake line. If you have an 88 or older you can remove the "T" and bolt up 2 brakelines like I did.
But to be honest, the difference in the 4.10 R&P and stock Zuk 3.73 isn't much. Yes it is some but if you are ONLY doing the swap for the R&P you will not be a happy camper.

I wouldn't do it just for the R&P ratio, I'd do it for the strength, but if it makes it super wide then street legality is going to become an issue. More than likely I'll just stick with samurai axles.

8)Toy axles are the way to go! The front is really straight forward, I would likely do the crossover steering from Sky. The axles are about 3" wider than stock (not much). With fender flares you should be law abiding. The strength is way better. You could run the stock R&P and try it or upgrade to lower gears. The rear may need a longer driveshaft. Good Luck!!

You can run the stock sami front drive shaft if you drill the toy flange to the same bolt pattern as the sami. You may need to run a spacer if you move the front axle assembly forward. The 3rd member (toy) is longer than the sami so it will take up some of the space. FYI

He also had to do something to the centing ring the flange is different.. and when you go that route you put the bolts very close to the edge of the flange.

Front:  I am going with Moving my Spring mounts out to match the perch width on the Toy axle.  Steering.  Trail Tough Sells the All pro his steer arms with the drag links cut to correct length and FJ rod ends.  I have an 85 front which has extra Gusseting so the ubolt on the Diff side had to have some extra help to make it work.   Drive shaft, I am going to use the stock front sammy shaft.
Rear:  Cut off the old perches (as stated before) and welded on new ones and rotated the diff up to point at the t-case.  I have my Toy driveshaft in getting made to length.  Oh yeah and a RockRat adapter, On its way.
I am finding out it is not as easy as I thought it was going to be.  Some of it has been due to the Front Axle was in pretty bad shape.  New seals, bearings, etc...  I am planning on running 33" tires.  Hope this helps.

Aren't the Samurai axles offset to the passenger side? I know the rear yota axle is centered.

Anything willl vibrate when setup improperly, but the cv shaft needs the pinion rotated up to point directly at the t-case. So, yeah, it's a myth. the double cardan shafts do help with the compound u- joint angle, though.
