Title: Gas tank lift.
Post by: MKOLSEN22 on January 02, 2007, 11:41:42 PM
I'm thinking of adding one of Sky's 2" body lifts to my tracker and I was wondering about lifting the gas tank at the same time.  I know that it has been done with the 3" body lifts but not sure about the 2" kits.  I was looking at the mounts the other night and it looks like the front mounts could be reworked fairly easy, but you might have to cut out the rear cross member and fabricate a new one to mount the fuel tank 2" up.

Any help?  Sugestions?  Comments?

I did a home-made 2" lift and it looks to me like there isn't enough room to lift the tank the way Hagen did.  Maybe another way, but there isn't much room with only a 2" lift.

I done the 3" body lift and the tank lift and it was getting very close on top of the tank. I dont think the 2" would be worth all the extra hassle.

i've also got the 2'' b/l, and lifted my tank by fabricating new front brackets, and driving a bolt through the rear crossmember for the rear tank mount.

Work do you have pictures of how you have the rear of the tank mounted with the bolt?  I would like to see that.

Thanks.
