Howdy,
My 88 Sammy has been getting crappy mileage lately. It used to get about 28mpg or so and now it is at 18mpg. My son drove it alot so I don't know for sure if it slowly dropped or if it just dropped quickly. The FSM listes ALOT of culprits. Does it pay to start at the top of their
list or is there a better way to go about finding the possible culprit??
Thanks,

I would do the full major tune up - plugs, air filter, oil change?, clean the fuel system, check for vaccum leaks, any other tune up parts, PCV, check the distributer, make sure you brakes are adjusted properly. I wouldn't do anything else until after that.

Hey, Thanks for teh help. I already put in new plugs, wires, oil change, air filter, and ran some
lucas thru the fuel system for a tank. It was idling bad and it got better. Then I changed the PCV and it idles great now. I still need to look at the vaccuum system. I will check mileage
on this next tank.

In the samurai factory manual, it says that the O2 sensor and PCV valve are supposed to be changed ever 30K. Somthing is pretty hard on them i guess. I have to replace mine and the PCV i think, and re-build that nice looking carb.

I'm gunna get to my O2 sensor next. I was gunna replace the EGR too, but I called
the local Suzuki dealer and they said $210!! :o :o I guess I will just clean it.
It have a bit of carbon on it and is "oily". Good luck on the mysterious carb ;D
I need to check for vacuum leaks on mine...........
Thanks,
