Weather was crazy today, 45* and sunny, so a lot of the snow melted, so I was able to go get the front Landcruiser axle that I'm putting under the Tracker. So excited!
From what I see, it's the same width as the back Tracker axle (haven't moved it around too much because it's a heavy bitch). Gotta get it cleaned up and make sure that everything's working properly, and I can get it mounted up.
I won't be able to get the rear axle until spring, though, as it's mounted on a Datsun truck. :(

How high are you going to go? Are you going to need xover for steering?
Would luv to hear your plans (even if/when they change) ...

what cruiser are those diffs from? thats the front diff, complete with drum brakes... will you be converting to discs?
should be sweet when you get em on, then it'll really be a wide track(ick).

Hey, you've mentioned before that you have a couple parts trucks... do you happen to have a trans/tcase combo that you want to get rid of? I don't particularly want dual Tcases (kick+sam), and the Toyota tcase doesn't have the slip yokes, do they? Also, do you have some extra driveshafts? That's another thing I need :P

Kind've unsure about how I'm gonna set it up right now... I'm still debating leaves vs. coils, but I'm leaning towards leaves due to cost and ease of setting them up. Don't know what I'm doing about steering, since the only steering component I could find was the tierod, so it'll probably end up being 'custom' (IE cobled together).
Right now, I'm aiming to have the axles clear the engine, so it should have room for 36"+ tires, but I'll probably go with 35's after I wear out my LTBs.

Yeah, front drums. It(they) is out of a 1967 Land Cruiser, from what I've been told. Brakes are locked up right now, and if I had the cash, I'd definately jump on a disc conversion. Too bad all the money that I'll get if I sell my lift kit will be spent on other, more necessary things. :(
Actually, from what I can tell, these axles are slightly narrower than the Trackers, but I've got 4" backspacing right now, and I'll be moving to 2" or less when I get the 6 lug wheels, so that'll help.

For toyota parts.
I have an AT with T-case connected tore apart
and the other is a 5spd but its still a runner. (together still ;))
I'm not sure what to do with the one thats still together. Its in too good of shape to hack up so I might have to sell it as a whole to fund the SAS.
The Toyota has as fixed yoke but I'm sure I'll need the drivelines.
I could sell ya the Auto tranny and T-case. but its an Auto and that RINGER 3 works with a 5spd.

Land Cruiser axles are very stout. Major changes were
made in 1968. I'm don't think '67 axels are a good choice
to put under a Track Kick. You will have a very hard time
converting to disk brakes. I've never seen an axle of this
vintage with disk brakes. You could buy a newer axle with
disk brakes cheaper than you could convert this one.
The splines are the axles are different, they don't even have Birfields! They have a "ball" joint. A Lock Rite is the only locker available for these old axles. The drum brakes are not self adjusting, the drive shaft flanges are different.

Eh, it's cheap. I don't plan on dumping a whole lot of money into disk brakes right now, and if I do, I'll just move up to FJ80's with E-lockers. As far as lockers go, I'll probably just weld the rear and leave the front open for now.
I think it'll work for the time being, especially for how much I payed and how close they were (across the road in a feild at my uncles) :P
