Ok I'm thinking of picking up a 2wd tracker to use for commuting for now then swap the engine into my sammy when the 1.3 gives up the ghost. just wondering what people on here think of that Idea.
This way I get a commuter for a while and then get an engine to put in my samurai when the time comes.
If I do pick one up going to try and get a manual with a 16 valve.
Any thoughts on doing this?

OH and another question do all the 16 valve engines have it stamped on the engine?

I picked up a two wheel drive for my engine swap. If you are able to drive it that good. Its a good way to see how the engine is running before you drop it in th zuk.
You can kill an engine just as easy in a two wheel drive as you can a 4wheel drive but one way to look at it is the two wheeler was probably a daily driver verses daily driver and weekend wheeler.
For the most part 4doors came with the 16v. Some 94/95 two doors came with the 16v and pretty much after that it was all 16v until the 1.8 and then 2.0.
The 1.6 8v looks like a 1.3l engine. Valve covers are the same and the spark plugs come in on the side. The 16v usually will have a tanish valve cover with spark plugs coming thru the top and somewhat of a flat look to them on top because of the plastic cover over the throttle linkage area. I don't have a pic with me on this computer but I am sure someone does.
