Title: Where do rear seat belts mount?
Post by: jaybyrd92 on January 14, 2007, 03:04:44 PM
I have a 1992 Samurai JL which has never had a rear seat in it. It doesn't have bolt holes or anything. I found a rear seat out of another wrecked Zuk and am planning on putting it in mine.
I took measurements for  the bolt holes for the rear latch, and where the front "hinges" mount. But the wrecked Zuk didn't have rear seat belts. I know where the female ends mount to the seat itself.
What I need to know is where the male ends that retract need to go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Look back by the tailgate should be a bolt hole about 2-3 inches in by the corner of the bed

The bolt hole might have a "sticker" over it, or it may not be drilled at all (probably what you will find).
The cross-brace under the cargo area will probably have the nuts for the seat belt bolts...or are the nuts on the bottom side of the cargo floor??? (I can't remember for sure), but either way........the holes for the bolts will probably need to be drilled through the top side of the cargo bed area.
