What size wheel spacers will I need for the front with this setup?
-

i am not doubting your skills, cause you are actually doing a SAS in a trackick and im not, but i am curious. why didnt you use a yota front axle instead? wouldnt it be a better choice?
oh... or are you running a kick rear axle on your sami? :-[
-
yota axles are real big and beefy, and costly it would be a better choice but what are you gonna keep the stock rear end? then you would have to re gear one of the axles(still have to with the sammy axle but all you do is take the ring and pinion out of the ifs you just took out and put it in the sammy axle with the spacer or i think you might be able to throw the whole third member from the tracker into the sammy axle) :, in my opinion it would only be worth running yota axles if you are going to run 35s or larger in some cases maybe a 34 inch LTB anyways, john1974 i think i saw a pair of 85 axles on the for sale forum here for 300 bucks, if you are handy with a welder and chop saw, and have some fabrication skills those would be kick ass in your tracker but dont get me wrong the sammy axle will be kick ass to(should be the first mod to do when lifting ifs) thats just my two cents
oh yea and with the yota axles no wheel spacers needed :)

no not on samurai, on a tracker/kick. I just sold my sammy, and I am about to do a SAS track/kick ride. My thoughts are I wanted to do toyota axles, but there pretty expensive around here, and gearing sucks. Plus I am going to daily drive mine often, and I figure by using my yj springs stock rear I keep the driveshaft lined up, I keep the steeper gears. Then with the sammy axle upfront I can just swap the gears out of the tracker front diff into the sammy axle. And boom I get SAS Conversion with the gears for alot cheaper price.
Thats my plans as of now, I am going to look at a suzuki sidekick today.

wait wait wait, are you talking about an all around leaf sprung track/kick with the sammy axle up front or just leafs in the front?
-
what happened to john?? i got a question since we are on the toppic of solid swapping a track/kick what do you do about the driveshaft, the slip into the t-case couldnt give you enough travel for hardly any flex could it? hopefully someone on this site can answer this.
i have heard of using a 1.6 conversion plate(for a samurai) running a samurai trans & t-case, but know you got to replace the rear axle for offset pumpkin or could you get away with using like a toyota driveshaft with double cardan joint and run it on an angle and dont drive it on the street ???
would really like to hear from someone that has done this swap

It is possible to do a "hack and whack" on the t-case outputs, giving you fixed "flanges", then you can run extended late model sammy driveshafts. A bit complicated, but can be done.
