My sami runs great when it is warm out. It starts great when it is cold out, but once it warms up and the choke comes off, it won't idle. The temporary fix is to turn up the idle, but it's kind of racing. Also, I'll just have to turn it down once the weather warms up.
Any ideas?

Make sure the pre-heat hose is installed and it's switching valve is functioning properly. Sounds like carb-icing.

Are you adjusting the correct idle screw? The cold/fast idle screw is at the back of the carb towards the firewal and is easlily mistaken for the warm idle which is located at the rear base of the carb tucked away behind some vacuum hoses. It sounds like that needs to be adjusted.

Most stuff runs like crap till its warmed up. Don't you let it run a few minutes before you drive it, or does it need to be "hot"? I have to let mine run at least 2-3 minutes.

2-3 min? I let mine warm up about 15 and shut it off for ten and then drive it !

My sami runs fine when it's cold, once it warms up, it runs like crap in cold weather. Is the cold idle an adjustment for when the choke is on, or for when the ambient air temperature is cold?

my jimmys horible on cold mornings for that, i halfto let it warm up for atleast 10 minutes before i go any where or else it floods and dies lol.. but yea the problem is i put a new motor in it and i gotta make up a new vaccum system to make the valve work for the warm air intake.. so right now its just unhooked and ya
