Title: Will 3 speed auto handle iuncreased HP and torque ?
Post by: rcaldwell on January 15, 2007, 05:21:25 PM
I'm planning to replace my 1.6 8 valve in my 94 sidekick with a 2.0 from a 99 Vitara donor.  My local transmission guru tells me that the 3 sp auto in my Sidekick is marginal with the 1.6 and would not hold up to the added HP and torque of the 2.0.  Has anyone here had a problem with the 3 sp auto, or have any reason to believe the 3 sp won't handle 127 horsepowwer and 135 pounds of torque??

;) I'm running the 3 spd auto with a turbo, works fine so far.
