I got a detroit ez locker from a sami in the rear of my sidekick using the samuri side gears. Now im getting problems.... When I drive it around it will be fine most of the time and then I will push the clutch in and then let it out it will makes a pop nosie and the drivers side tires doesn't spin, it will keep makeing that nosie and usually it will lock in but that is after alot of pops. Sounds like a spring poping out. Sometimes it will just pop and never lock in and sometimes it will lock in a work fine. What could be the problem? I havn't changed the gear oil since I put in it 4 months ago, could it be that? Or maybe the locker isn't shimmed right
thanks

Yeah, sounds like it isn't set up tight enough, that would be my first place to look.

thanks for the quick reply, looks like im going to have to pull it all out and give it to my buddy.

I wasn't aware that the locker from the rear of a sammy would be big enough for the carrier on the rear of Kick...
Did it used to work ok??
I have heard of using the rear locker for a sammy in the front of a, since they are virtually the same, but not in the rear..
guess I learn something every day.....
I would like to see how it is set up though.

well, when I first put it in it was working fine, ever since we started getting snow it has been acting weird. But im not to sure how it was put in, all I know is that the installer had to use the samuri sidegears to fit the locker properly because the stock sidekick ones were different, im sure that he just installed it a little too loose and now something wore down a bit from use and need another shim or two. Hopfully a quick fix, i wanna go wheelin on the 28th

Keep us posted...
I am curious to see how it holds up, and if it was just a spacing problem

i sure hope it is, just got it not to long ago

well, i bought the locker used for cheap and most people are saying that it will need new springs? does this sounds right? makes sence to me.
