whats the deal with ppl putting ford crown vic shocks on their track/kick? does this improve anything?
-
Mainly used for 3"inch suspinion budget lifts.
Or if you have an after market 3"inch suspinion lift and need new and cheap shocks
-
Mostly from what I read they are used by budget lifters who use coil spacers. These shocks are cheap, they fit, and they are longer than stock Trackick shocks to compensate for the lift. These are ?-1991 shocks for a Ford Crown Victoria. The monroes are about $20. I was going to ask people what ones to buy....

so what all do i need for the 3 inch budget lift wit the crwn vic shocks for my 94 track
-
you will need a longer spring, or coil spacer to actually lift your vehicle. the crown vic shocks do not add lift, they just are a bit longer than stock. If you put a lift in the rear, the stock shocks will pull apart when the suspension flexes down, and pull apart. There is a guy on here who sells coil spacers, and several vendors that sell them as well.

To elaborate on the cheapo suspension lift concept:
Check out http://www.zuwharrie.com/content/view/11/27/1/0/ (http://www.zuwharrie.com/content/view/11/27/1/0/) for a detailed description on how to do a 2" suspension lift. Although the article talks about lifting a 4-door, just about everything in it also applies to a 2-door.
Be sure to carefully read the article before running out in a buying frenzy to get the necessary parts. This kind of lift is exactly what it says it is. Cheap. Which is to say that you are not gonna be able to do serious rock crawling. The offroading qualities will improve (bigger tires, better ground clearance) but things will break if you really push your truck with this grade of suspension lift. It'll take more money and effort to get to the next level.
There are a few threads both here at ZukiWorld and in the Tracker/Sidekick forum at Zuwharrie.com that can help you if you search.
Just in case you might think that I have two tricked up TracKicks in my collection, I don't. Both are bone stock. More importantly, I have two sets of spacers SCREAMING at me to install them in my trucks! It's cheap, It'll add to the modest offroading habits that I have and it'll start me out down the road to turning them into offroad monsters (even better than my Samurai).
This is such an addictive hobby!

I'm sorry, but after reading 6+ topics all asking the same exact type of questions all by the same person and all of the first or second page I have to say this...
Please search out the related topics posted previously before you ask something that most likely has been answered already, and several time over at that. I know for a fact from being personally invloved in such topics that ALL of your questions you have posted have been answered MANY, MANY times already...
I guess I'm just burned out and cranky right now, so like everybody nevermind... ::)
