Title: sammy on 31's vs tracker on 31's
Post by: john1974 on January 25, 2007, 01:51:57 PM
ok ok, I just sold my 87 samurai sitting on 31's with a spring over lift.  I also just bought a 94 tracker, and am leaning towards SAS up front.  But with IFS lifts can I get as much ground clearance in the tracker with 31's as the sammy??

I find the sidekicks center frame section and floor sits much lower than a sammi, you'll lose in that area.

The tracker's wheelbase is longer than the sammy, so the breakover angle is less, but the rear diffs of both rigs will be approximately the same height with the same tires. You will have more front diff clearance with the tracker since it's IFS...

I would try it with the IFS first.  It won't hurt anything and might be a fun change of pace.  :)

Problem is I dont really want to deal out the $$ to IFS lift it... when I can get SAS done for almost nothing since I have most of what I need here for free... :)

I was just asking to see what others have done, or see... then make a final choice
