I see that a few of you have had to change your valve stem seals for the 1600 16v what did you sue to compress the spring without removing the head? can I use the universal overhead valve spring compressor the everyone has for sale? it looks like a pully puller. Is there enough room for this tool? it looks cramped with all the valves in there.
hears a picture of one on ebay.

any help appreciated.

I could'nt find any off the shelf tools that would work , ended up making some. It's a PITA, and I would consider pulling the head to do it again. Watch out for the spring keepers, thay are TINY and easy to loose. I found a missing one in my oil pan months later, By the time I finished I used every magnet and mirror I owned and my back was sore for weeks!

::) Hey Tip, sorry about taking so long to get back on this post. I tried to upload photos of the tools, but the files are too big. I put them on my web page. www.flickr.com/photos/bentparts look under valve spring compressor set. Good Luck!
