Well. I have been taking my 4 door sidekick on the dunes and it does really good with 30" tires 2 inch body, 2" coil spacer. I can conquer all but the steepest of the hills on the Oregon Dunes. My question is What would be the best tire for the sand? Anyone ever tried to use paddles on a sidekick on the rear? Just a thought... Input?

i've heard it done but not seen personnelly.
The shop that did my motor (Half-Ass off-road) uses Paddles on his Kick
at the beach.

Naaa, just some minor finishing that needed to be done.
A few extra oil leaks.
had none b-4.

bfg all-terrain tas work great for me in sand, air pressure at 10 pounds.
climb just about all dunes , high range 4-wheel. just keep the rpms up.

2nd that on the all terrains.
I ran some sand dunes in Australia several times (Stockton beach in NSW) and i had pirelli scorpion A/T's at the time, and they were killer. My little 2 door vitara 8v flew all over the place up there, and i can't say i ever had traction tires. I run MT's now, but have never been on the sand with them, so i can't give any comparison.
I think paddle tires are only for ultra-light machines like dirt bikes and quads. The power to weight ratio to spin them is much better than in a sidekick. Just my thoughts.

For the real steep stuff you need paddles, even my four seat rail needs them on the steep hills and it has about 215 h.p. and weighs in at 1100 lbs. the bald tires (they are the best)that I run on them most of the time will get me most of the way up them then dig in just befor the top, you have to be carful when digging in you will roll if your not going streight up the hill.

Do you live in Oregon ? I live in Eugene, Just air down...you will be fine,

No I'm near tahoe, but we go out there every year. My kick does fine out there when aired down, just wandering if i should try some paddles for fun. Buddy has a rail with extra paddles, just wondering if it would do any better.
