can this swap be done?
i have a 94ish tracker mpfi 16 valve thats blown up
found a G16 out of a newer suzuki car with only 40K miles
would like to put it in the tracker
can it be done?
links if its been discussed already please

As long as it's an actual Suzuki G16, you can interchange the block parts. Look on the transmission end of the block at the edge where the bellhousing attaches and you'll see a flat place with the engine id cast into the block. It should read "G16 159x cc" or something close to that.
Remember, some of those Geo automobiles were not Suzukis!

The FWD Swift 1.6 has different water gallerys and the distributor out the back. Doesn't fit easily. Some details would help.

i would think the heavy chassis of the tracker would need the extra torque from the 1.6 liter displacement block
i'm just trying to get this pile of shit running again
we swapped in an 8valve block with the 16 valve head but it was out of our field tracker, so all those 6K mud bogging runs took a toll on the lower end and its lost compression now. 90 lbs across the board
can't find a 16v G16 from a tracker so we're gonna try to use a FWD G16

Towards the rear of the bock it should state G16a or G16b (8V/16V). What model and year Zuk is the replacement motor coming out of? Take a look at the distributor, does it come straight out of the head or is it mounted at 90 degs.
