....with one of those kick ass deals that nevers happens to anyone! I just realized I have no idea where my camera is! Pics to come I guess!
But it's a 94 Tracker, auto, 4x4, tops in OK shape, runs great, but has no gas cap which is why the check engine light is on, I would guess. 127K on it, LS, has some cancer, but no matter, it'll all get cut out. ;D Sits on 29" mudders with alot of tread left. All it really needs is the exhaust pipe between the cat and muffler.
Here's the kicker. $400 and I drove it home today! 8)

its obd 1. Check engine isnt on because of a missing gas cap. The evap system is way to basic and its not computer controlled nor is it monitored by the computer. Still, its a deal.

i'd take it!....got my 95 tracker with 140,000 on it for next to nothing....still to this day i have TONS less money in it than i've ever had into a vehicle, and i can honestly say that it is definatly one of my favorite vehicles to drive....also, the check engine on mine was on, it was the egr....no drivability issue or performance loss...dont run weird or anything...every other vehicle of mine that has had an egr issue had a MAJOR drivability issue...not the case here, i said "F" it, decided i like the red glow of the light!

I'm pretty sure you'll find that it is operated by the ECU, there should be a Canister Purge Vacuum Solenoid Valve (CPVSV) towards the front of the engine. You are correct in saying that a missing cap won't throw a code there is no diagnostic feedback on the Canister Purge circuit.

thanks for the tip on the gas cap....I'll check the EGR system. Has issues with my old one also...Today's tune up day for it :)

If the problem is like what I experienced with my old rig then just jam a ball bearing up the vacuum hose at the back right ( looking forward from the drivers seat ) or back left if you are standing at the grill looking towards the back of your rig ???
The engine was a 16V engine, all Kicks from 1990 over here are 16v's.
Just trying to help :-\

I got my 87 Sammy by trading a radial arm saw that my brother left at my house for over 2 yrs. Would have drove it home but the tag was expired. It had been sitting for 3 yrs. Nedds some work on it but i do drive it quite a bite.
