I am looking for an aftermarket solution that I cant seem to find. In my current project I am swapping a 2.0 tracker motor + automatic transmission into my 1988 Samurai. What I didnt know until I pulled all the wiring was that I have to use the gauge cluster from the Tracker to have access to the speed and rpm readings. My transmission and transfer from the samurai are shot. Do you have any idea's on how to convert the wiring to fit my samurai cluster?????

The tacho signal wire to the Sammy instrument cluster is Brown. It's the same color in the 2L Vitara.
I can't find a speed signal to the Sammy ECM. I guess the sammy speedo is cable driven from the TC.
The Vitara ECM has blue/yellow wire from the speed sensor to the ECM. The speedo is electrically driven.

Thanks for the help it will come in handy. Is there no way to adapt an electric speedo to a mechanical?

I expect it would be a custom job, using a controllable speed motor to drive the cable to the speedo. A circuit board would use the speed sensor signal to generate the control signal to that motor.
Some people fit a Sammy TC to a Tracker to give a gear reduction for extra large tires. If you do that, you can keep the mechanical drive to the speedo.
