Hey guy I have about 5 connectors that have no recieving end to the plug. it's the wiring that run under the door in the rocker. I do not have the down stream o2 sensor hooked up and I am getting a weird surging when it warms up. I am assuming it is searching for the sensor. Does anyone know what the plug looks like that it goes to? or what color the wires are? I am going to the salvage yard later today to look and see what they have. The one I went to yesturday only had an older one. I am hopefully either going to snag an o2 sensor or find a resistor that will fool the computer what do you think?
THANKS for any help!

The downstream O2 sensor shouldn't cause surging, its purpose is only to check that the Cat is working. A used O2 sensor probably isn't worth the money, it could be duff. New sensors aren't very expensive if you shop around. I doubt if a resistor would fool the computer, the O2 sensor generates a voltage so you would need two resistors hooked up as a potential divider, they would have to be supplied from a stabilised voltage source (not battery). Its also quite likely that the ECU will measure the current in the heater circuit to detect heater failure and to ensure that the O2 sensor is up to temperature before it accepts any readings, you'd need another resistor for that as well.

Yes, failure in the heater circuit also throws a code.

The only price I have gotten so far was over $200. need to get it on a scanner and see what it says.
