I was talking to someone at my work who used to have a samurai, and he told me about a governor under the gas pedal. I took the one off the tracker, and the throttle now opens completely, and it goes a little bit faster ;D

are they on sidekicks? that would be nice.

you mean the little metal stopper on the floor????? ???

I assume that is what he is talking about.
The purpose of it is to keep the throttle body butterfly from opening past 90* and either damaging the throttle cable and/or possibly making the throttle sticking open. The stopper should be adjusted so the throttle body butterfly opens to 90* (fully open), but no further.

YA THATS WHAT I KINDA THOUGHT IT WAS FOR. I DONT THINK THAT I WOULD EVEN TAKE IT OFF IF IT WASNT WHAT THAT WAS FOR

Also when the throttle butterfly goes past 90 degs it will start closing again.

I thought it was just a stopper to keep the throttle cable from getting damaged as well, but it is too long to do just that(at least on mine, the threaded part was at least an inch and a half long). On mine, with it screwed all the way in, the throttle wouldnt open completely, so I took it off.

so where exactly is this stopper thing located? is it the little rubber peice the pedal hits when its to the floor?.. im interested.. everybody loves a fast car ;D
