my XL7 got rear-ended :'( the damage is not bad, the rear door got dented in by the spare but still works. rear bumper cover is cracked and tow hitch bent
other driver was at fault and her insurance will of course be picking up the repair tab. whilst the Zuk is wounded but still perfectly driveable, her Highlander looked REALLY bad, the airbag went off, the hood and everything in front of the engine is demolished, and it has frame and fender damage.
I'll get the XL7 fixed (unless someone wants to buy it as is) and probably sell it.

Auto/5spd?
How much?
Where are you at?
-
it's auto, 4WD, slight lift with 29" AT tires, 55K miles.
I'm in Woodbridge VA
haven't thought about a price yet. insurance guy will check it out on Thursday, and it looks like Sean at aftermarket4x4 can hook me up with a replacement rear door & bumper. I have pics of the damage it doesn't look bad. the Toyota on the other hand...
-
Give me a price. I have been Tracker/Vitara shopping all day and I am in southern Md and I am a Body Man, Perfect vehicle, let me know!
-
What's making you want to get rid of the XL7?
Just curious.
-
nothing specific really, but I got a nice raise and I think I'm ready to move on to something newer and a little more stylish. I don't go offroad much and I don't use the 3rd seat, so after giving it some more thought what I really need is a suburban runabout that gets decent gas mileage and is good for an occasional camping or beach trip and can still get around in some snow. don't shoot me but I'm seriously thinking about getting a Honda Element AWD, in 5-spd manual if I can find one :) it has a zippy 2.4L that has some commonality with the 2.0L in my Acura, and has more legroom and can actually carry more than the XL7 due to its box design.
-
you could also look it the new Xl-7. Get better gas mailage and has more room.

I can see the logic in your thoughts.
Sad to loose you but hey, we all have to do what we have to do.
I just lost my job so unless something comes up we might end up selling one of my two toys. I guess we'll see.
As much as I despise them for going minivan on us I'll second blacknight's thought, you might want to check out the newer XL7's.
-
sorry to hear about your job, that sucks. hope you land on both feet pretty quickly.
the new GV & XL7 are a lot more than I want to spend, I'm still making payments on the Dodge. I can pick up an '04 Element with relatively low miles for $14-15K and I like the idea of having 2 Honda vehicles. That new Suzuki SX4 looks really great! but it's probably too small. I might check it out just for fun though.
-
anyone know where I can find a replacement, undamaged XL7 rear bumper cover? the OEM part# is 71800528125PK and it is longer than a GV bumper
-
Check Ebay.
Also look up a company called LKQ. They're a big nationwide distributor for used auto parts and have very reasonable prices and shipping. They sell stuff on Ebay as well.
Also try www.car-part.com .

hey Ben, I sent you a pm. I got most of the replacement parts but still looking for the rear bumper cover, maybe you know of a source?
somewhat off-topic here but I saw an SX4 in person in a parking lot and wow, that is a nice little whip for $15K.
-
sent you a PM, will let you know tomorrow. I will give you a price on Used, Aftermarket, and OEM. You never know who is the cheapest.
-
Thanks for your help!
funny thing is, I popped the cracked part of the bumper back in, and it almost looks like nothing happened, it's just scuffed where her bumper went underneath mine. made me wonder if urethane be repaired? probably more trouble than it's worth though
-
found a place "Bumper City Inc." that can sell me a new replacement for $250 shipped... that's not bad, insurance co. estimate on a refurb one was $260-something.
-
still need to paint it ??? right
Geogre
-
umm yeah, but her insurance gave me a *very* generous payout :)
I already stripped the replacement rear door of all panels/hardware, so once I get a new bumper I can just drop them off to get painted
