Title: Air Conditioning Recharge
Post by: nuts4hotwheels on February 27, 2007, 06:15:57 AM
I have a 1998 4 door Tracker and the A/C doesn't seem as cold as my old 95 Sidekick.  I want to check the refrigerant level and some if needed, but I am not exactly sure what to do.  I have the gauges and a bottle of R134?  Ihave no idea what the refrigerant level should be or how to add it.

Sounds like a good reason to roll the windows down, and drive really fast!

Yeah, thanks.  I found a website for the gauge manufacturer and they had instructions to do it.  She is blowing cold again, but it  is leaking from the low side valve.

About all you can do at this point is see if you can tighten the coupling or wait until the system bleeds down again then crack theat joint open and replace the "O" ring.  After re-tightening the joint, charge it up as before.
