SUZUKI SALES CONTINUE RECORD-SETTING PACE
XL7 crossover SUV, SX4 sport compact sales make for best February in company history
BREA, Calif. -- (March 1, 2007) -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) today announced sales of 8,585 units in February – the best February sales in company history. The new monthly sales record follows a record-setting 2006, when ASMC enjoyed automobile sales of more than 100,000 vehicles for the first time in its 22-year history. Year-to-date sales in 2007 also remain ahead of last year’s total.
ASMC’s record February was led by sales of the new XL7 crossover SUV with 2,402 units sold and a 68 percent increase in sales of the Aerio line, which now includes the media-acclaimed all-new SX4.
“We’re excited to see Suzuki’s dynamic automobile sales momentum continue through the first quarter of 2007, said Koichi Suzuki, president of American Suzuki Automotive Operations. “In 2006, Suzuki achieved a significant milestone in the U.S. by surpassing 100,000 units in annual sales, and we expect the growing popularity of the XL7 and the SX4 to help us continue to sell Suzuki automobiles at a record pace.

Maybe people are feeling the pinch with fuel costs and this is a contributing factor. Good to see, at least this way fossil fuels will be around a bit longer, not too mention the possitives for our planet - I hope the trend continues with the sale of "compacts" as you call them over there - "compacts" LOL, you guys just crack me up :)
We get "yank tanks" cruising around over here and they look so big, cumbersome and soooo out of place - and boy do they like fuel :o
PS: Nothing personal, just an observation. I mean you gotta look at this way - this is a Zuk site and most of us run them, they are fairly econimcal so I guess we are doing our bit 8) . It still comes down to personal choice and we are lucky we still have this to enjoy - nothing worse than a dictatorship :(
