Title: Do i need the front sway bar?
Post by: museboy07 on March 10, 2007, 09:32:11 PM
I just got my 2 inch lift and ive heard taking the front sway bar out lets you get more flex.  Is this true, if so is it dangerous?

it will give you a little better articulation, but you wont be able to take 90 degree turns at 100mph anymore.  :P

I have my sway bar off and it rides way nicer I find. No more head toss when you hit speedbumps at an angle. It may take some getting used to because it is fairly tippy but if you drive sensibly it will not be an issue. Here are some flex pics with Digger's 1.5" lift, Crown Vic shocks, and the swaybar off:

i just took the sway bar completly off today.....150% better with it off, i can now baja dirt roads alot better than before, it doesnt pull me sideways when i hit the michigan potholes that are as big as my lil trucklet around here...on road handling doesnt seem to be affected too much by this, i took a 45* corner doing about 60, never let off the gas at all, and bodyroll was still minimal.....thanks alot for this post, i was a bit hesitant to remove it when i put my lift on, but with everyone elses results, i decided to give it a whirl.....loved the results!
