Title: different vacuum hose set-up in 86?
Post by: daddyizzle on March 11, 2007, 07:20:00 AM
I got hold of the emission hoses and sensors off a samurai. Thought I would put them back on mine since it doesn't quite run right without it. I pulled up the acks link and went to work. It was somewhat confusing because it seems to leave some vacuum outlets on the carb and manifold unaccounted for. I also have a vsv on the firewall behind the engine that it doesn't address. Some of the jets don't seem to have a grey side, and the replacement parts that I have, in some cases differ from what was on originally (original ones were broke). The vsv that mounts on that little mounting bracket on the left side of the head at the front of the engine only as one mount hole on the bracket and is configured different from the acks pictures.

I got a headache trying to figure this out, going back and forth between the pictures and instructions, and the mess under my hood.

1. Is it possible that suzuki changed their emission system between the 86 and 87 model year?

2. If so, how do I figure out how to hook this one up if the acks directions don't fully apply.

I really wish there was someone here with a properly plumbed 86 that I could use as a visual aid.

Any ideas?

Hey Adam,

If I can get a scan/copy of the hose routing, got a place to send them too?

PM me with the info, we can carry this on there.
