Title: Aniversery Edition LSD's?
Post by: TysonS on March 11, 2007, 10:50:33 AM
we were up wheelin in the snow and im sure that my buddys 10th aniversery sidekick has LSD front and back.  We were running chains on only one tire to get up this little hill then put the other one on and the tire with the chain and the one without the chain were both spining, this was the same with the front.  He was running there gay summer tires, he just bought it a few days before.

This sidekick is sweet, it has factory skid plates front-tranny-tcase.  And there rear seats are a 50/50 split that are on tracks like the front seat and can be moved front to back.

A girl from my church has a Sidekick with factory skid plates as well. It's intriguing for sure. Too bad it will never see any off road use...

I got factory skid plates, I just cant figure out how to mount the damn t-case one (i forgot to grab the mounting brackets for the top of the crossmember to attach it)

Those seats sound cool.. I must have a set.

What is a "10th anniversary sidekick" (1999?)?
I doubt it has LSDs in it...but I could be wrong. ;)
I think they started the sliding rear seats in '96.

Hmmm.  A quick google search turned up a 90, 91, and 93 all referred to as a "10th anniversary" edition.  What do any of those years have to do with a 10th anniversary?  Not that it is relevant to whether he has LSDs or not, but I am just curious, since this is the first I have heard of a "x anniversary" sidekick or tracker.

Well, look at what I found on cardomain......
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2098557
Even has some "10th anniversary" stickers on it.  He lists his as a 1990.  So one of you is wrong on the 10th anniversary year.  But I still don't know what either 90 or 91 is the 10th anniversary of. ???
I guess I'll just start telling people I drive a "14th anniversary edition" Ranger.  :P

my 89 has rear seats like that, and my last kick had them too.....not sure they're so special. as for the lsd, if im going full throttle, with wheelspin, all of my wheels would spin, but i only had a rear lsd. i also had the skidplates, but i took them off, hoping i can get the calmini skidplates soon. mine is just an 89 sidekick jlx....no special edition, no extra options, or anything.
ive never heard of a 10h anniversary track/kick, but thats interesting. is there anything else on it that may be different? any pics?

No idea about the LSD situation, but the 10th Anniversary Edition stuff is probably just a dealer-installed sticker package.  I suppose if they had some left over, they could apply them for several years..  Anything for a sale.

Now, if someone finds some option codes on one of those trucks that they can plug into an RPO decoder, then we might have something!

...old link dead.  Now here:

'course, doubt that one would work for Suzuki codes anyway, but maybe there's a Zuk one out there somewhere.

The LSDs should be pretty easy to clarify. Dave Jones had a pair in SuperZuki, IIRC the front third was different and I believe the rear had 'LSD' cast into it.

I think I have a 23rd Anniversary Edition, but NONE of my TracKicks had LSD's, and NONE of them had sliding rear seats, out of a 91, 92, and 95 4-door, a 95 2-door, and a 99 GV.
