If you don't go crazy with the tint,
you could do a light tint and not
have problems with the cops

5% is the lightest, I think it would be fine,
the darkest is like 85% or 95%  it's like
Limo tint, could use it for welding  ::)

I'm thinking of having my windows tinted limo black just on the rear side windows and the rear window it's self then get the driverside & passengerside window done in 15%... That's after checking with local laws of course, since I don't drive it shouldn't be a problem.

% of light that gets through. I have gotten a $75 ticket for tint, but I think MO has reversed the tint law now, I should be entitled to a refund don't ya think?

I put a similar top on my '91 a couple of months ago, now some low-life ba$tard has knifed the R/H upper window. Being seam welded, I'm unsure if the window can be repaired, or if I need a new top. At AU$580.00, I hope I can get it repaired!
On a totally unrelated topic, what's the best tool to use for remodelling low-life knees?

For a good DIY tint job on soft top windows, try the cling type tint. I did it on mine and only had about 1/16" of an inch all the way around the edges, which was invisible from the outside.  I just spritzed the inside of the soft top window with plain water and squeeged the water out when it was in place.
