Title: HELP.....PLEASE
Post by: Swifgriff on March 12, 2007, 04:42:26 PM
I have a problem and its called an 87 Samurai. When i bought this it was used for off road.
I took the lift kit and big tires off and put stock springs and tires back on it and now use it for street driving only. The trouble is sometimes it acts like its running out of gas. It has a weber carb on it. When i first got this it had a Ele. fuel pump, with the stock fuel pump rod taken out so it would not work. I had a lot of problems with it then running right. I bought a rod and put
it in. It ran great for about 10 or 12 weeks. Now its back to acting like running out of gas again.....BUT not all the time..I have the Ele fuel pump and the stock fuel pump working at the same time and still have this problem...I have cleaned the carb. out....no help
I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP ANYONE GIVES.........Swifgriff

I raised the float level a little bit the second time it messed up. Worked fine for awhile.
What i don't understand is why it only runs like this at times ??? and other times it fine.

The problem is the fact you took a nice wheelin' rig and lopped it's nards off. :o

It is fighting back. ;D

Try replacing the stock fuel pump. If it ran "great" for awhile after you replaced the fuel pump push rod and then started running crappy, it might be the fuel pump starting to give up the ghost.

And that Webber might be having fit's itself.

The stock pump may be going bad, but it would run good at times with just the ele. pump.
I just finished raising the float level as high as it would go and also by pasted the canister.
Drove it down the road and back and so far so good...Swifgriff
