Title: Auto trans
Post by: ppltrak on December 09, 2004, 02:34:49 AM
Well my dad just bought a 97 tracker and his tcc lockup isnt working. He also has a code 740 tcc ckt. I checked the ckt. all ok the ecm is trying to apply tcc but to no avail. Can you change the tcc solonoid from the pan or do you have to pull the trans.

  Thanks,
   Kevin

Hey ppltrak or wildgoody if you guys have auto trans could one of you do me a favor?
Where the TV kick down cable attaches to the throttle with a little black clip could you tell me if the end of the cable is tight up against the black clip or does the cable stick out about an inch or so?
MIne sticks out about an inch and I don't know if it is stuck in the transmission or if thats the way it's supposed to be.  It does move at full throttle but does not retract all the way.
Thanks

That is normal, if it is tighter (not tight)
it will kick the trans down sooner, or
if your trans kicks down too much or
too soon, make it a little longer or loosten
it so the trans stops going into second
as soon

Thanks.
I hadn't really seen a kick down cable that didn't come back all the way.

Well Wild I just might have to head out to Occotillo this weekend.  ;D I'll be the purple tracker with green splash it was one of those splash models. Where are you going to camp? I normally camp near the ranger station so if you see me feel free to pull in.

comeing in a motorhome, so they stay close to the
hard stuff, they got stuck once  ;)

The Motorhome is a Sports Coach with a blue stripe
and you know what the Kick looks like, This will be fun
See you out there

Sorry, Mine has never been out of the trucklet

I would drop the T-case and cross member and
undo the engine bolts 4 big and some little ones
on the bell housing

Good Luck
