Title: rear diff question
Post by: lowrezolution on March 24, 2007, 10:50:31 AM
What are the differences from the 98 rear diffs to the 99 and up rear diffs? ???

Has anyone had a good look?

I was wondering if a mini spool from the 98 and older would fit my '01?!

Got real stuck like and want to lock at least the rear up for now (cheapest way too)

Is yours a V6 or 4-cyl?

If it's a 4-cyl than for all intents and purposes there isn't.
The V6 trucks used the same rear diff (basically) until 02-03 or so when a bigger rear diff showed up.

Do a search as we've discussed this in depth many times.

so, if i understand this thread i could toss a spool from a 98 into my 03 4cyl?????  i wish this to be true but have my doubts.  even arb says swap my rear diff if i want to lock it?????  WTF.  i don't recall any info that told me a locker would fit my rig without putting a pre 99 third on 1st.
