Title: sidekick sport front clip
Post by: pecs on March 30, 2007, 09:09:54 AM
I'm thinking of picking up a '97 sidekick sport, that was in a wreck and needs a front clip, hood,  and windshield.  I have a '93 JLX donor, and was wondering if any of you guys know what is swappable.  I've got 230k on my '93 and the '97 has 68k and is $900.  Trying to figure out if it is worth my while...

Thanks!

I believe the sports are a narrower then the regular ones. So, anything running length wise such as the fenders should work also headlights. But I don't believe anything running the width would, such as grill, hood, and the upper support above the grill

they should be swapable man,, the spetrs just have a different front clip so just dissasemble the front of the sport and put your 93 stuff on , like i said should be a straight swap ,and maybe a few swap overs,, just look at both to conferm.. good luck man

Just remember that the Sport bumper cover is wider. It extends out to match the fender flares. When I pulled off the front clip of my '97 Sport, it was completely different than my shop manual showed for a regular Sidekick. I don't have a regular Sidekick so I couldn't compare them side by side. So far, I have found out that the Sport models have different bodywork, a different frame, different brakes, a different motor, different suspension, and (I think) a wider rear end. It's like a whole different vehicle.
