Title: How many degrees Before or After TDC do you run?
Post by: jerryp58 on December 26, 2004, 06:09:55 AM
I just checked my timing (after my belt change and head work) and found I was right on 8* before TDC as the manual recommends.

I'm curious if anyone has played with, and has comments about, advancing or retarding their timing?

My 89' called for 10*
I adjust the timing for the turbo
to reduce pinging, I'm not sure
where it is set at.

to get better aircare marks (but still didnt pass) i brought it up to like 2* or 3* BTDC in my 1.3 sami... it improved it, methyl hydrate was the thing that passed me though

We just got emissions here  >:( It sucks, but its only for 96 and newer vehicles I assume because its after obd 2. Which kicks ass cause mine is a 95.
