Title: heat shields

Hey guys,

the heat shields on my catilitic (spelling?) and  and the twin down pipe both are rattling for me.... would i have any problems if i just yank both covers off?

You should consider where you will be driving. There have been a few instances of cars parked in fields going up in flames when the heat from the cat set the grass alight.

I would just find a friend with a welder and have them make a couple of quick tacks on the heat shields to hold them in place.  If you ever replace your cat the entire thing is coming off anyway.  :D

but isn't the heat shield made out of a type of alum? that can;t be welded can it?

Nope.  Stamped steel.  Way cheaper than aluminum for the manufacturer.

Grab a refrigerator magnet and go check it out.
