Title: Weight
Post by: kansascitytracker on December 21, 2004, 03:32:28 PM: Ok, how many pounds of sand-bags do you all carry in your rigs? I have been told none when mudding is best, but to always carry weight when in the snow and ice. Any thoughts on this?

Post by: Digger on December 21, 2004, 04:51:26 PM: I don't carry any sand bags for weight. I carry a gallon jug size ice melter/salt in the snow and ice, but I don't pile on extra weight. My g/f runs with 200 pounds of salt or sand in the back of her ranger, but mainly to balance out the weight bias...

Post by: Chief on December 21, 2004, 08:55:54 PM: My dad has a beater 2wd Ranger he runs around, and he has 600 lbs in the bed. I run nothing but the snow in the bed of my Tacoma. Easier to do donuts that way. ;D

Post by: Zukipilot on December 21, 2004, 10:07:29 PM: If your driving a 2wd you may want a little. My 2wd tracker sucked in the snow, but was alot better with 2 people in the back. If your 4x4 you should not have any problems. We got our first snow last sunday (unheard of around here, THANKS CANADA for the artic blast ;D) I drove around all night in the X-90 playing in the snow and had zero problems.

Post by: mahimahimo on December 22, 2004, 02:07:21 AM: ehhh i run wit a tool box prolly like 30 lbs, a shovel, tow roads , and a 2000lb tag along... so its all like 45 lbs.... it doesnt really make a diff traction wise... its just there incase i brake for get stuck ;D
