I removed all of the bolts including the one on top and I still cannot seperate the t-case from the transmission. The transmission/ t-case are still connected to the engine/vehicle.
Please HELP I am anxious to get my gears and twin sticks installed.
Thanks, TJ

When you say the one on top are you refering to the one under the shift tower? That one some times gets missed.
-
Well its the one right behind the tranny shifter on top. Is there one under the tranny shift tower too? Once all the bolts are out does it just seperate real easy from the tranny?
Ross its too late to call mike, If I dont get it out tonight Ill call tomorrow.

When you go to put it back together, you can leave that single top bolt out. Makes it easier to remove the tcase next time.
I also "clearanced" the front mating flange of the tcase (where it slides under the tranny shifter tower).....so the tower can be left in place and the tcase will still slide together with the tranny. To do this, I had to barely grind a little bit off the mating flange of the tcase, in a couple places....put the tower back on and try to slide the tcase on the back of the tranny, and you'll be able to tell where you need to grind.

Ill have to do that for easy future removal.

your gonna love the gear! and the twin stick is the bomb.. I was doing rear burns last weekend moving the rear around on an obstable..it's soo much fun!
-
ya after attending zukefari 07 I realized I better get some gears and a rear spool. I would have finished today but I can't get the bearing pressed out of the old imput gear. Tomorrow ill take it to my napa shop and have them do it along with pressing the bearing on the new imput gear. Then later this week Ill conquer the rear spool.
-
TJ how go's the battle. you get that thing running yet?????
-
Ya I went ahead and bought a new bearing for the imput shaft/gear and had it pressed on. All I have to do now is put it back together and install in the truck. The first time doing something new always takes longer than planned. If I had to do it again, prob like 2.5 hrs including the removal from the truck. Then on tuesday the rear third comes out to get a new TT mini spool.
So much to do and to little of time. ::)
