Title: samurai just started grinding and slipping in first gear?

hi all i have a 87 sammi and i have owned it for about 6 month in that 6 months i noticed a whine started a wheil back either from the tranny or the transfer case? so i changed fluids nothing happend . then recently i noticed some sort of slipping when i started in first  felt like it was in the diff or tranny idk! then today it got real bad like when i start i first it feels like it slips and grinds real bad any ideas on what it might be and things i can check pretty easy! thanks ???

Sounds like your clutch is dead. Time for a replacement.

ya thats what i was begining to think when i do my clucth if i buy the tranny rebuild kit with all the bearings and you know what i it worth it to do that how hard is it to install the new bearings and syncros in the tranny?

ya sounds like a bad clutch, inspect the clutch cable too might be stretched out and in need of a replace when you do the clutch... ;)
