I got my Zuk running. It runs but missing. It runs very rich (feels like one or two cyl not up to par) I haven't gotten compression mesured yet. I suspect engine is weak. Nevertheless, I drove it and I feel horrible vibes going 30mph and then 55mph. Feels like vibes are felt throught t-case shifter. I've disconnected rear d-shaft, drove it likt that, still there.
I have a lot of experience with Jeeps (owned one for 8 years), but not much about gear driven t-cases where gears are used to transfer HI range 2WD. Another Q is how often transmission to t-case shaft go bad, is it possible to have it out ob ballance?
Also, could rough running engine transmit vibration through the driveline, seems unreal, however, I don't exclude that possibility.
Please advice on wether I should R+R t-case and rebuid it!
I would like to see owners with similar problems pitch in!
Cheers!

Not sure what Zuk you have have, but the motor mounts may have come a little loose from the rough running motor and that could transfer the vibes to the rest of the vehicle, ?maybe?

Are you sure that your drive shafts are in phase?

That's the first thing I have checked - and they weren't. I put them back phased properly.
I'll check motormounts!

HOLLY CRAP!
I have never seen such profound lack of maintenance.... :o
I've replaced u-joins with maybe .005 of play( i was realy anal about my Jeep before).... NO - these u-joint are simply shot to DEATH!
Especially transmission to T-case (t-csae side u-joint has about 2/32 of play SHIZER!!!)
I'will get U-joints ordered in a timely maner!
I can't complain about my 87 Samurai - I got if for FREE ;D
So I will have to sink some $$ into it!
Cheers!

I noticed my Sami looked like it hadn't been body-lubed in YEARS. It's why I change my own oil now - the "techs" at oil change places always miss something with thier grease gun.
