Q: What is going under The Pumpkin?
That's right folks!!!
Anybody running the early 70's (fj40?)
What do I need to know???
-
They're big and heavy. You'd be better off using 80 series LC axles as they're stronger, but also wider.
-
Are there any Spools available? Would I be ok welding?
-
Make sure you don't have one with the ball and claw front end, lousy turning radius and impossible to find parts for.
Aussie Lockers has a nice locker for the FJ axles I believe.

I have a little bit earlyer set laying out in the yard, the rear end is a c clip type so to help with that you can put disk brakes on the back and call it good.

I have to convert the front to disc... and get steering for it... The rear will go on this weekend, front maybe the week after...
