It has the 1.9 VW diesel in it. it has the calmini lift and the aftermarket black steel wheels.

$8500
hehe ;D....now thats funny for a 93 sidekick!! no matter what kinda knockin motor is in it!!!
-
???8500??? Is that for TWO Sidekicks or just one? WOW he is proud of that diesel motor!!
-
You could buy a much nicer car for 8500, like a 4 runner and convert it to a diesel, or you could import one that is already diesel for that price(you would have to deal with all the vehicle importing BS though ::))

Snip from Ebay
engine has a “knocking noise. My engine rebuilder had the engine torn apart and diagnosis cylinder #1 with a slight “imperfection at the top of the cylinder wall. This creates a knocking noise. He said it should run for an unknown time without any problems.
::)LOL

you know there was a guy who did that conversion on here witht acme kit and he had a brand new engine he spent like $5000 on the engine and kit so are you telling me a shitty four door is worth like 7000.00 and then he did the knocking engine install 1500.00???
-
Yeah, it's overpriced but I'd still like to have it, just to sort it out and have a tracker I could run on veggie oil. There must be some overpaid greenie out there that will think this is a good deal, but when they can't sell it, maybe the price will drop to something reasonable. I do think that turbo needs an intercooler though.

Hi, that's my rig. Here's how I came up with $8500 or best offer:
93- 4dr track/kick - $2500 (agreed you could probably pick one up for cheaper shopping around)
VW 1.9TD - $2500 (could be as high as 5K) - assuming you can find one in good shape (For those interested my mechanic is replacing the short block, so the knocking issue will be gone)
Acme kit - $835
Cooling system (new 27" rad w/ dual fans)- $600
GM Alt w/ bracket - $150
BL & coil spacers Lift - $250
EGT & Sensor, Boost, temp, & oil pressure gauges - $200
Petroworks Heavy duty clutch - $250
Total - about $7300
That doesn't take into account the countless hours I put in to it. You could easily pick up $1150 in labor to do all that work. I've got a lot more then 8500 in it.
Can you do the build for cheaper? Of course. I can even show the nice folks on here how if you're interested. Everyone here and the other forums I frequent have been super helpful. I'll gladly share the info I've learned. The information is also readily available on Zuwharrie and Yahoo.
So is the price high, maybe. Will someone buy it, who knows. I hope so. It is built and ready to go. No assembly required. Besides, it does say "or best offer" Make me an offer it you don't like the 8500. I've had several people come look at it with intentions of bidding on it. Currently there are twenty something people watching it. The 8500 can't be that far off.
Dave
Oh, no calmini lift.

You have a pretty neat rig there, I can tell you've put alot of effort into it.
Still, although add-ons and conversions are good selling points, they do not actually add to the retail value of a used vehicle. :(
That's why you can never expect to get back nearly what you put into a project truck. NADA average retail for a '93 Sidekick is $2,825. With a knocking motor, you will be lucky to get that for it. My suggestion would be to drop a stock motor back into it, ask $3,000 for the truck, and then sell the diesel parts seperately. It might take a little more work, but you will be able to get more for it. Either way, fair asking price would be no more than $3,000 for a running/driving Sidekick. You can sell it for that with the diesel parts, or sell it without the diesel stuff get another grand or two for the conversion parts.

someone over here is selling a
2d hard top (been sitting for a year), bad engine + a vw dasher diesel engine
asking 1200

Sometimes people put stuff in the watch cause they think it's cool and would be neat to have. Sometimes they have one similar and wonder what theirs is worth (doubtful). Sometimes I think they just do it to screw with you and get your hopes up! Hee Hee!!
I said it before, Its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I saw a long wheelbase Sammy Diesel go for over $10.500. It was in near perfect condition. You said here that you're replacing the block to take care of the knock. Definitely a plus, and I hope you updated your listing. My only concern, if I were looking at the listing, is the integrity of the engine work since I don't know the mechanic. Diesels aren't as cheap here in the states as they are in other places. Not as easy to come by. It's certainly worth some money to the right person. Your own labor is worth something to guy like me that doesn't have the time or welding skills to put a rig together. No money to start that big of a project but maybe the money to buy a completed one. (Wife says no!)
If I were in the market to buy one, I would be looking for a near ground up restoration that I could run down the highway smoothly and still take it off road a little. It would be nice to pickup a turnkey like that.
I would drive it to work and then blow my coworkers away on the highway for making fun at how slow and small my Sammy is.
Hope you get your b.i.n. anyways.

ok with the engine done it is a lot better and you do have a nice setup . it is something i would want to have if i was not in canada and the winter...-40 in the parking lot ....diesel means sleeping bag necessary. I wish the dude that did the other acme install since he did a brand new engine install. the total cost seems to be the same. anyways good luck on the sale and keep us up todate on the sale.

"Q: are you retarted.you will be lucky to get 10 bucks for that piece of junk."
"garyc307" (ebay tag) thinks it worth 10 bucks.
Ha ha. This makes me laugh and ponder "why would you bother sending me an email?"
daddyizzl, my hopes aren't too high. If it doesn't go then it gives my a good excuse to keep driving it and not put the cash proceeds into the business. It'll be an asset in the company's name instead. Then I can tune it the way I intended to.
Thanks for the input. Everyone's "suggestions/comments" on the knocking convinced me to fix it. Hopefully it pays off.
