Ya, it will work, that's the easy way
to go, changing to an auto is the hard way
What do you plan on doing with the
old auto ???
-
its up for grabs i guess if i change to the manual i have no need for it but. . . . . . i was wondering if u can tell me exactley what i would need and around the cost of everything .... my buddy whos gonna be doin the work knows but i dont know exactley what i need so..... help lol

Well I guess it could get extensive, you need
the center for the shifter to come thru, the
pedal and any brackets that hold it, the cable
of coarse the trans and all the various things
that are attached to it, the speedo will read
different as the man Trans is designed to go
with 5.12 R and P gears, the speedo gear is
in the T-case so get the one from the donor
vehicle
I think that's about it, cost ??? Depends on the
wrecking yard, I'd guess about $300-400 for
all the stuff.

is it a cable clutch or hydrolic clutch for 94?
-
I though it was a cable, but I'm not sure
-
so im guessen thats good cause less things to have to get ... yea if i can get some good used things im deff doin it i hate auto and i hate haven no torque at all
-
Funny, I love the auto for wheeling,
I'd like a 4 speed for the freeway tho
-
yea like if it was a 4 spd i wouldnt mind as much but the fact that its a 3 spd it sux......... i really like driven standard..... so the fact that its a 5 speed and its a standard will make me happy ... im gonna start getten some of the parts in the next few weeks so any specifics parts wise would be very appreciated

quick question .... how will the different differential ratio's effect the way it drives and accelerates since im gonna be usen a manual 5 speed wit automatic 3 speed ring and pinions?

It's going to give you a slightly
higher all the way thru the gears
ratio, I would switch to 5.12 gears
if you get a chance, especially if you
want to get or have bigger tires.

Are the t-case and the drive shafts the same from 3-sp auto to 5-sp manual?
Will the computer freak out if it can't talk to the trans?
If this is mostly an on-road vehicle, the lower number gears should provide better economy, but a little less zip off the line, yes?
Sorry, I answered your question with questions.

The 3-speed auto isn't computer controlled AFAIK... and with 3-speed R&P's, it'd be like driving with stock gears and 33's... not fun :-X
-
More like 30 or 31s, not great but very drivable
-
oh ok i got ya cause i have some 235 75 r 15's now but i was gonna be getten some 30's in bout a month so ill deff pick up ring and pinions outta a 5 speed tracker
-
I just ran the #s thru the 4X4 calculator,
from stock size of 205/75-15 (27" Dia)
to a 30" tire would need a 5.13 gear ;D
so 31s should feel like the 235s you have
now when you swap to the 5.13 Man Trans
