Yo, i just went out to get a set of 235/70/16 tires for the xl7,an the tire guys at the tire place refused to sell me a set,telling me that it's a 7 or 8% difference and it will burn out my transmission and damage my diff!same story for a set of 225/70/16, 5% difference but he will sell me the 225/70/16 but i should not go back to him if i have problems with the jeep in the future.WHAT THE F#%*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what the hell? Thats odd never new of someone like that running from a deal. Guess you gotta beef everything up or go to a different tire place

well i went back and we took a set of Bf Goodwrench light truck a/t Tires 235/70/16 and they will rub for sure when turning(damn!),so i bought a set of 225/70/16's getting them on thursday.

That's funny about the 235/70's. I've been running 245/75/16 for over 30K. Changed the fluids at 45k and all was good with the trans.
