Title: Hagen widening trick on GV ?
Post by: ngrover on May 04, 2007, 02:08:38 PM
Has anyone done the Hagen widening trick on our gen Vitara? Sounds like what I'm looking for.. it moves the front wheels out and forward by an inch. This might give me the clearance I need for some bigger rubber.

I did this mod on my 91 and it works well but while under my 01 I was looking at the susp and found that the crossmember that the rear of the control arm bolts to is shaped wrong to allow this mod to be done

I had a look too but it seems the metal is curved into a lip so you can't really move it out quite a lot. I would really like new control arms ::).
