Has anyone ever heard of putting an acura i.8 into a samurai? :P I picked up a 90' intregra for $500 to try and make a buck but if I could get that motor into my sammy it would be nuts!!! :o

don't it turn the opposite way?

I think so too. I believe that Honda have now changed their engine designs so that they rotate the conventional way but 1990 might be a bit early. 1 forward gear and 5 reverse gears would certainly be nuts though :o

some seriouse reverse dougnuts!

:-\ I knew there had to be a reason no one has done it. Double the horsepower would have been nice though. Oh well, my $35 pony carb arrived on Friday and looks good so hopefully that helps a bit.

No - it wouldn't have been nice. The power is in the wrong place. That engine doesn't wake up until about 3500 RPM.... about 2500 rpm past where you want a 4wd do have it's power.

Yes the acura 1.8 is designed to shine in the top end but samurai engines have poor torque and they do OK. I'm pretty sure these numbers even beat the popular sidekick 1.6 conversion ;)
Fuel injected 1.3 (mine's not)
66 hp 76 ft-lbs. torque
90' Integra 1.8
130 hp 121 ft-lbs. torque

off-road, not so much, but the highway miles would be a blast with that engine :D
